Trailer kits typically do not require registration until they are assembled and ready to tow on
public roads. At that point they can be subject to registration and in some cases an inspection
as part of the registration process. Fees vary as do the requirements by state and/or local
government agencies. Trailer registration, inspection and fees are the responsibility of the
trailer owner. Trailer registration requirements and vehicle code interpretation vary widely from
state to state and sometimes even between localities within some states. Please check with your
local Department of Motor Vehicles or any other local agencies to determine the full
requirements for registering your trailer. All trailers listed within this site are kit trailers except
for the Swivelwheel series that come fully assembled. I currently do not distribute the
Swivelwheel trailer in the state of California. Those California customers interested in the
Swivelwheel product can contact the manufacturer directly.
