Just so you know, the HD stands for Heavy Duty. Not
in terms of weight, although it will carry four bikes
without breaking a sweat. The HD is in terms of the
abuse it will take. We tested every piece, connection,
component and motion in temperatures ranging from
-40 degrees (think, summer in Antarctica) to 185
degrees Fahrenheit (Hello, Equator).
But don’t let the extra steel and tough components
distract you. This rack is easy and convenient. To load
up to four bikes, just swing the loading platform down
(notice: it stays parallel the whole time). You only need
to lift your bikes a couple of inches off the ground. Use
the sturdy straps and locking system to secure your
bikes, and swing the platform back up. It snaps into
place. And you can still get into your trunk on the trip
home.
You might not spend a season in Antarctica, and you
might not spend a lot of time in Death Valley (Or Las
Vegas in July), but if you do, we can help you take your
bikes with you. And when you’re ready to go up to the
mountain, we have separate attachments to hold your
skis or snow boards.
